I’ve decided to try my hand at Lillie McFerrin’s Five Sentence Fiction. Below is a description from her blog.
What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction. This week’s inspiration word is : SACRIFICE
She eyed the last piece of apple pie that she’d been dreaming about all day. She scooped it up with her hands and slipped in onto her plate, licking her sticky fingers. He strolled in just as she was sinking her fork into the flaky pastry, poised for that memorable first bite. His bottom lip jetted out and her heart melted into a mushy goo not unlike the apple filing. She handed him the fork and watched as a smile spread across his face.
How sweet! And, that is a sacrifice!!! I really like that there is no dialogue; the picture you painted with the fourth senetence is perfect 🙂
Thanks!!
Food – a true sacrifice!!, love your loving descriptionsKate
Mmmm, I want that apple pie now, too! I don't think I could have made that sacrifice!
That was wonderful! I could really feel how much she wanted that, and I don't blame her!
Thank you for all the wonderful comments!!
