It sounds cliché, but I never really found myself until I hit my thirties. Yes, I’m all wise an stuff now…okay maybe not, but I’m getting there!
It took several major life events, career changes, meditation, good friends & family and a WHOLE lot of encouragement to get me to where I am right now. This magical place called HAPPY.
Though I’ve made long strides in my life, there has always been something missing. First, I want to start off by saying that my current job isn’t horrible. It pays well, the people are great and really I’ve had much worse jobs…much worse. Yet, I’ve always wanted to help people while doing something I love. The psychology graduate in me has been yearning for this one-on-one interaction. YEARNING.
If you know me, you’ll know that I tend to question…well…everything. I’m not all that content with taking things at face value. I want to know why. Once I understand something, I can move on, until then…there’s just no chance.
So you’ll understand when I say it’s taken me a very long time to just have faith that things will happen, and for a reason. But, I have and it did.
To make this long story short, I’ve stumbled across something that makes my heart sing (on top of writing, art, music etc) I found coaching. To be more specific, creative life coaching.
Okay, I know what you’re thinking. The old me thought that way too.
Seems kinda like artsy-fartsy, hippie tree-hugging crap. Touchy-feely, I want to live in harmony, nonsense.
But to be honest, it’s not. My desire to help people, combined with my love of creativity in all its forms, has led me here. With my previous schooling, combined with some additional courses and practice, I plan on exploring a career in creativity coaching. Thankfully, due to the nature of coaching, I can do this in addition to my current full-time job. I’ll be working long hours, but I’m used to being busy. In fact that’s when I thrive!
My aim is to help clients find and follow their passions. Explore themselves and the world around them. Take chances, make small changes (can anyone say 22 Things?!) and feel encouraged the entire way.
My journey has led me here, and I intend to help others find theirs!
