Singing in the Rain

It’s been a hot dry summer here in Winnipeg. The grass is brown, the plants are wilted and I’ve been staying indoors far too much. But today I woke up to rain clouds and cool winds and I’m not gonna lie…it was heavenly! A small reprieve from the humidity that soaks you to the bone.
Normally I love waking up to the sunshine. It always seems that little bit easier to get out of bed when the sun is shining through my blinds all happy…or at least that’s how I imagine the sun to be.

Scotland – Where every day is a rainy day…or at least it was when I was there.

This morning I slept in and enjoyed every minute of the dull grey light that filtered in, casting deep shadows across my room. It was just what I needed; a guilt free way of taking time to relax and slow my pace.

It made me realize that I can’t always wait for a rainy day to slow my pace. I’ve been spending so much time focusing on all my passions, that I’ve forgotten to stop and breathe.

Who knew rain could have such a powerful positive effect.
