Yes, I’m Reading More! Are You?

Remember way back in February when I wrote a post about reading more in 2016? (Check out this link for valuable tips to get you reading more.) Well, guess what? It’s working!

Yup, I set out to take the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge and I’m pleased to say I’ve read 33 books of 40 so far this year. *insert happy dance*

I’ve read some very good books. I’ve read some very bad books. I’ve read books about people I knew little about. I’ve read books that were on my to-read list for a very long time. I’ve read fiction and non-fiction, adult and young adult. It’s been a journey of words and I’m lovin’ every minute of it. Yes, I just quoted the band Loverboy.

Some of these books haven’t fallen within the parameters of the challenge, but this just means that my reading total will exceed 40 books. Can I get a WOOWOO!? But I promise I will finish the entire list. Oh yes, I will.

I’ve been using Goodreads to track my progress. If you’re not using Goodreads, by George, why not? It’s an amazing way to keep yourself organized and motivated. Now I know you’re just dying to know what I’ve read. You can check out my list here. Feel free to add me as a friend or recommend books you think I’d enjoy. I’m always open to suggestions.

Anyhoo, the point of this long-winded ramble is that I’m so happy I’ve made the time to read. Joining this challenge has forced me, in a very good way, to explore outside my preferred reading genre and that, my friends, is good stuff.

But enough about me, how are your reading goals coming along? Are you making the time to read or just making excuses? I’d love to hear from you!

And now, because I can’t get this song outta my head, here’s the Canadian rock band Loverboy. Please don’t judge all of our music based on this. 😉

  1. Woohoo! 😉
Reading is something that I’ve missed dearly since becoming a mom. Finding the time to read (while Lou sleeps) and still get necessities done was just not happening. A friend suggested that I try audiobooks and I LOVE it! I can get my stories in AND do the dishes!
