Saturday Ramblings

This week has been tiring, y’all.

Actually the last couple weeks have been brutal. The weather has been cold and snowy. Like 61.7 inches (156.7 cm) of accumulated snow, snowy. *cries* February is the worst month ever in case you didn’t know that. It’s left me battling the winter blues. Basically all I want to do it curl up and watch copious amounts of YouTube videos and wrestling and reruns of Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Which is okay but I also kinda need to get things done too.

My new computer arrived this week and I spent the last couple days setting it up and editing cemetery videos again. Which honestly felt SO good. Tomorrow (Sunday February 27th) the newest video goes up on the Tube. You can check it out here. I’m trying out this premiere function so if you log in at 11:00 am (CST) I’ll be around in the chat.

I have a ton of content to edit including a cemetery with a Titanic burial that has a very interesting story. If you like my cemetery videos please subscribe to my channel. It really helps and it makes me feel happy. And you want me to be happy, right? Of course you do because a Happy Angie can cope with the winter blues. And this year I really need it.

I also plan to get back to work on book two in The Reaper Chronicles series. In fact not only is tomorrow Cemetery Video Day, it’s also Write-All-Day Day. You know what I mean. It’s a day I’ve designated to sit in my room and write until this pesky ending is done. Good or bad, it shall be written. I deem it so. Plus I have two very good writerly friends who also deem it so. For me. Not them. Or maybe them. I don’t know. I’m rambling.

There I’ve lived up to the title.

Okay well I’m gonna keep this post short and sweet.

Main takeaway points:

  1. February sucks
  2. Cemetery Tour video up tomorrow
  3. Subscribers make me happy
  4. All day writing fest has been deemed
  5. Late night posting leads to a case of the rambles

And on that note I think it’s time for bed. Laterz.

Angie, I didn’t realize you had recorded your visits to the cemeteries. In particular, the Elmwood Cemetery in Winnipeg. My grandmother, who died after giving birth to my mom, is buried there. Her name is Daisy Teal. I find the older I get, the more history and the weaving of all our stories means to me. I would never ask you to go to the trouble of seeking out her gravesite there but perhaps, the next time you visit your grandparents’ resting place, you could take an extra flower and put it on a nearby grave that has no flowers. I will never manage to get to Winnipeg myself but I would also like to symbolically acknowledge that she was never forgotten. My mom was named after her and the name Daisy Teal as well as her kindness and humour has stayed with us, even though my mom and I never met her. Your video was so beautifully filmed. NOW I understand your interest and wonder of cemeteries and their history. By the way, you should do voice work in radio or film. You have the most lovely voice!

Oh Jo-Anne! Once the snow melts I will find your grandmother’s grave and lay flowers there for her and film it so you can see. Of that I promise you. ❤ It means a lot to me to know our ancestors share the same resting place. And thank you for the beautiful compliment. I hope you enjoy following my journey. The history in these cemeteries is where my heart lives.

Angie, it’s taken me a bit to stop crying. Thank you so very much. I cannot express how much that would mean to me – first to see it and second to know that someone with your gentle spirit was the person who shared it with me. I didn’t understand before but I certainly do now and look forward to seeing and understanding the history within the cemeteries. Sending you love and thanks.
